private home new zealand:

sophisticated dividing wall fitting for large walnut/glass elements

the interior designers of this residence in new zealand chose a sophisticated material combination of glass and walnut. the three sliding doors dividing the living and dining room look particularly impressive. they measure 50 cm in thickness, 3.8 m in height and up to 2.0 m in width. this elegant design allows for the doors to be hidden completely in a niche behind the fireplace. to this end, they are installed on the astec dividing wall fitting b.1000 which is nearly invisible while being able to support very high loads. the walnut glass doors in this example weigh approximately 250 kilograms each. this weight is supported by evenly spaced precision rollers on anti-friction bearings which transfer the load onto a guideway. an additional advantage of the dividing wall fitting is that it omits complicated support structures in the ceiling. the dividing wall system is suitable for glass sliding doors with a glass thickness between 10 and 12 mm.
